The Real Estate Alliance network of agents is organising what it says will be Ireland's biggest ever auction sale.

The aim of the National Property Auction in Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel is to stimulate the market.

The organisers say it will feature a mix of properties from all market sectors and will offer great value for buyers.

Philip Farrell, of Brophy Farrell REA in Newbridge, said the auction will be a great chance for buyers to "get off the fence" and take the plunge as the market is in their favour.

"We are keen for buyers to be aware that the properties being offered have been carefully selected to ensure affordable prices," he said.

The organisers also say it will give vendors who have been reluctant to put their property on the market the opportunity to secure a binding sale in an auction environment.

Perspective buyers can bid in person, by telephone or by proxy through the agents.

The organisers are sure the auction will be as successful as it has been in the UK.

Bidders will need to have finance in place with a 10pc deposit payable on the day.
