Kilkenny auctioneer Pat Gannon sold a 74ac non-residential farm at Mellison, Glengoole in a recent foray into neighbouring Tipperary where the deal was sealed in the days after the auction.

The farm, located closer to Thurles, was withdrawn from auction at €600,000, after falling well shy of its guide of €740,000.

It was eventually sold to a progressive farmer from the area for a price considerably higher than the withdrawal price, said Mr Gannon.

Located at Mellison, the land is described by Mr Gannon as superb roadside ground.

The property is all in one block and laid out in 10 fields of permanent pasture with frontage to two roads.
