A parcel of ground extending to 18.5ac at Rathmuck, Kildangan Road, Co Kildare, was sold under the hammer by Portarlington auctioneer Matt Dunne last week for €140,000, making €7,600 per acre.

The land is all in grass and situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac beside Rath Dara Stud, a mile off the main Kildangan/Kildare Road, five miles from Kildare Village and six miles from the Curragh.

The parcel of 14ac with good road frontage is described as excellent arable land ideal for any equestrian venture, while the remaining 4ac requires reclamation.

The auction was well attended, bidding was brisk and the purchaser was Mr Shane Joyce from Kildare.
