Latest additions can be seen for first time in Ireland at Grass and Muck event in Co Tipperary
John Deere has added six new models to its 6R series with the introduction of what it call new "small-frame" and "medium-frame" models.
The 6R series now totals nine tractors, with a horsepower range of 105-210hp or 125hp to 240hp with Intelligent Power Management, for road and pto applications.
The latest additions to the 6R series can be seen for the first time in Ireland at the FTMTA Grass and Muck event at Gurteen Agricultural College, Co Tipperary.
All the new models feature the new John Deere tractor family styling. All offer new levels of power, performance and operator comfort, including improved suspension and cab visibility, more powerful hydraulics and increased lift capacities.
The new small-frame 6105R, 6115R and 6125R models are equipped with a Stage IIIB 4.5-litre four-cylinder PowerTech PVX engine rated from 105hp to 125hp.
The medium-frame 6130R model is powered by a 130hp four-cylinder engine mounted on a six-cylinder frame, while the other two medium-frame models, the 6140R and 6150R, are equipped with a Stage IIIB 6.8-litre, six-cylinder PowerTech PVX engine rated at 140hp and 150hp respectively.
All base their emission control systems on exhaust gas recirculation and, according to John Deere, meet the latest emission regulations using diesel-only PowerTech engines (no AdBlue required).
Employing John Deere's established full-frame design, the new 6Rs have a longer wheelbase to provide improved stability for loader applications.
Also, higher permissible weight and payload allow bigger and heavier implements to be carried.
Transmission options include what John Deere says is a newly designed 24-speed DirectDrive. An integrated front three point linkage with a lift capacity of 4000kg and a new front pto are also available ex-factory for the first time on 6R Series tractors.
John Deere says that the front hitch is fully compatible with the new John Deere H-Series front loaders, which have been designed to provide maximum visibility and to match the new tyre sizes and tractor chassis dimensions.
John Deere says it has managed to squeeze in 20pc more space into the new 6R's ComfortView cab, with a similar increase in visibility. In-cab features include the firm's 7in full-colour GreenStar 3 CommandCenter display, integrated climate and radio controls, Bluetooth connectivity with SIM card access.
Optional on the GreenStar 3 CommandCenter display are touch-screen controls and video capability. Options include a clear panorama roof, ideal for using front loader at height. Also optional is John Deere's HCS Plus hydraulic cab suspension and TLS Plus triple link front axle suspension.
Prices start at €74,789 plus VAT for the John Deere 6105R tractor.
