Ireland set to welcome EU's Ciolos

EU Agriculture Commissioner Dacian Ciolos will fly into Dublin this Thursday evening for his first official visit to Ireland.
The commissioner will meet with An Taoiseach Brian Cowen, Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith and leading Department of Agriculture officials on Friday.
The future of the CAP and the likely shape of the reform process, which is due to kick-off this autumn, is expected to dominate discussions.
The commissioner will also meet with key stakeholders who have an interest in agriculture, including Oireachtas members, representatives of the farming organisations and consumer groups.
A visit to a local farm in Kildare to see first hand some of the challenges faced by Irish farmers is also scheduled for the commissioner.
