Interest fails to spark sale of Laois land

Despite a lot of interest in a 58.5ac residential farm near the village of Rosenallis in Co Laois, it was withdrawn from auction after a bid of €120,000 on a lot that included the house and yard with 21.5ac. There was no bid on 37ac that made up the second lot.

According to Peter Scully, of GVM Tullamore, there is still interest in the property. While he says the house and yard are in need of attention, the land is good fertile ground.

Along with joint agents MacInerney Auctioneers, he is guiding the sale at €8,000/ac.

53ac success post-auction

A 53ac non-residential farm located at Broghill, Charleville , Co Cork, was sold after auction last week.

The property was withdrawn at €200,000 by GVM Kilmallock auctioneer Richard Ryan and sold afterwards to a local farmer for an undisclosed sum.
