IDB rewarded for brand success
The Irish Dairy Board has collected a number of prestigious awards in the past 12 months for the phenomenal success of Kerrygold Extra in Germany.
Kerrygold Extra has brought new consumers into the brand and achieved more than €20m in sales for last year.
Here at home, the awards included the Irish Marketing Institute's International Marketing Award 2010 for Kerrygold Extra, while the IDB was named "Exporter of the Year 2010".
In Germany, the IDB took a number of retail awards:
- Top brand 2010, Kerrygold -- This is an award given the by GFK (an industry benchmark agency) that acknowledge the top 100 brands based on brand share growth and a review of the marketing strategy for the product. There is one brand chosen from 100 product categories across the entire retail landscape. Kerrygold was acknowledged for its number one position in the butter category.
- HIT Rank 1, Kerrygold Extra -- The retail and wholesale trade in Germany are asked to vote on a range of products across a range of categories and Kerrygold Extra was awarded gold in the margarine, oils, fats and butter category.
- Product of the year 2011, Kerrygold Extra -- This is a consumer best product award, which is run with German consumers directly. They vote on a range of products across a range of categories (the same set as per the trade award) and Kerrygold Extra was awarded gold in the butter category.
