Land in North County Dublin has been in short supply, but a 31ac farm at Oldtown, near Swords, is to be auctioned this week and the sale price should give an indication of where that market stands.

The property is being guided at €9,000-12,000/ac by agents Ganly Craigie.

Located 1.5km from Oldtown and 10km from Swords, the land is in old pasture and includes a derelict farmhouse and extensive road frontage.

The property will be sold in two lots. Lot one comprises the farmhouse on 24.3ac, with 165m of road frontage. This lot is in five divisions and under grass.

It is hoped that the presence of the old farmhouse may give the buyer a better chance of getting planning for a new house.

Lot two is 6.6ac, laid out in two divisions, and comes with 340m of road frontage. This is also under old pasture.

The farm is in the heart of North Dublin farmland and is surrounded by active farming enterprises.

The property will be sold at public auction on Friday, at 3pm, at the Marriott Hotel, Ashbourne, Co Meath.
