Green light for ag degree at Carlow IT

The academic council at Carlow IT have "approved" a new Bachelor of Agriculture degree course at the college.

Farmers, agri-businesses, the IFA and educationalists had campaigned for the course in sustainable agriculture in response to regional demand.

The Academic Council's decision now goes to the CAO for inclusion in its admissions prospectus and to the higher educational authorities for the financial backing to employ the required academic staff to run the course at the college.
