Thursday's open day at Ballyhaise Agricultural College, Co Cavan, starting at 10.30am, is a DEP approved event and will present the latest information on best practice autumn grazing management.
The primary purpose of the event will be to encourage farmers to put more emphasis on feed budgeting to extend the grazing season in autumn and to demonstrate new methods to avoid pasture damage during typically wet October conditions.
The ongoing Teagasc research at Ballyhaise College seeks to provide dairy farmers in the Border Midlands West (BMW) region with locally generated research information and technology to increase the profitability of their business.
