Galway herd head entries for Charolais Society show

Thirty-two breeders have entered heifers for the Irish Charolais Society unhaltered Heifer Sale which will take place at Golden Vale Mart, Tullamore on the evening of Friday October 23.

The largest individual breeder entry comes from the 'Calla' herd of Thomas Joseph Callanan , Calla Kilconnell Ballinasloe Co Galway who keeps 35 pedigree cows in the herd founded more than two decades ago.

There is also a sizeable entry by Peter O Toole, Leagaun Moycullen Co Galway breeder of Leagaun Figaro currently standing at Dovea AI Station, Co Tipperary.

In addition there is a choice of entries from the herds of Eddie Daly, Clonmahon Summerhill Co Meath; David Erskine, Crosses Monaghan Co Monaghan; Stan Glynn, Blakehill Cong Co Galway and John Mc Cabe, Castlecolane Ballaghaderreen Co Roscommon on offer.

The entry includes a choice of four and five star animals (rated within the Charolais breed) among a total of almost 80 animals on offer.
