French firms join forces

The EU has given the green light to a joint venture between France's third largest dairy processor, Senoble, and the co-op Agrial.

Senoble processes 650m litres of milk into mainly fresh dairy products such as yoghurts.

The deal allows Senoble to secure access to Agrial's 500m-litre milk pool, while Agrial paid an undisclosed price for a 50pc stake in the own-brand yoghurt and fresh dairy products joint-venture.
