Former TD's home comes on market

The Connemara cottage of the late Dr Noel Browne has come on the market.

Mr Browne was the Minister for Health credited with combating the incidence of TB and introducing the famous Mother and Child Scheme.

The cottage (left), which was once the family holiday home, became Dr Browne's permanent residence in the 1980s.

Located near the sea at Cloughmore South, Ballinahown, Connemara, the house is a lovely thatched cottage that has three bedrooms, a kitchen, shower and toilet.

While it has central heating, it also includes the original fireplace complete with its crane.

The property includes a smaller guest cottage with a lofted bedroom, kitchen/living area and bathroom.

The property is being sold by Paddy Flynn, of Galway Real Estate, and has a guide price of €250,000.
