"We started a bit late last season with the Shearman bale grab/splitter but everybody I spoke to who bought one really likes it," said Colin Gillespie, area sales manager with Fastparts machinery distributors.
Designed to handle round bales of silage, hay or straw, the Shearman splits and retains the plastic and netwrap.
This means that you can feed with it directly onto passageways or into a feeder.
The Shearman can be seen on the Fastparts stand today (Row 16, Stand 229).
It is fitted with euro hooks to fit virtually all front loaders, and the bale splitter is selling for €3,500 including 23pc VAT.
In other news from Fastparts, Farmhand's wearing parts division, the firm is now promoting genuine Kverneland loader tines and are urging farmers to ensure they are getting what they pay for.
"Kverneland has been the top brand here for over 60 years and is unrivalled in terms of quality, strength and durability," said Sinead Scrivener, manager of Fastparts.
"We are encouraging people to check that they are getting the genuine article when buying replacement tines; there's no point in taking chances."
