Farmhand has announced the appointment of Mark Maguire as manager of the parts division at the company.
Mr Maguire, (39), from Dublin, has more than 20 years experience in spare parts and most recently spent 12 years with TBF Thompson, first in after-sales and then as general manager of the group's Dublin operation, which closed last year due to the downturn in construction equipment.
"Mark will be expanding not just our genuine parts but also our rapidly growing Fastparts division which together account for over 35pc of company turnover," said Farmhand managing director John Scrivener.
Meanwhile, JCB recently fulfilled a multi-million euro order for 80 machines to support a major scouting event in Sweden.
The 22nd World Scouting Jamboree in Sweden was held this month and, according to the organisers, the event was eight years in the planning as more than 40,000 scouts from all over the world attended.
Swedish JCB dealer Söderberg & Haak Maskin AB won the order for the firm and this included JCB wheeled loading shovels, telescopic handlers, a backhoe loader and a wheeled excavator.
The bulk of the order, though, was made up of 60 4x4 JCB Workmax 800 D utility vehicles.
The Workmax UTVs were used for the duration of the August event, carrying people and materials around the site.
