Auctioneer Matthew Conry of selling agents Dawson Auctioneers, Tullow described the land as exceptionally good tillage ground in one block. Located five miles from Tullow and five miles from Carlow on the N80, the farm has excellent road frontage, along with a derelict house that delivers a supply of running water and electricity. The property also comes with planning permission for an American-style barn.

A fine crowd showed up at Dawson's Tullow offices for the sale and three bidders declared interest when the auction opened at €200,000. The matter proceeded in increments of €20,000 and €10,000 until the property was withdrawn at €380,000.

Although there was no official guide price prior to auction, auctioneer Matthew Conry said the final bid was somewhat short of what the vendors had expected. Active negotiations are ongoing to close the sale.
