The new Emerald Expo dairy show in Cillin Hill, Kilkenny, at the end of next month is set to have one of the biggest prize funds of any dairy show in Europe this year -- and the job of allocating the €25,000 prize fund has fallen to French judge Anthony Le Trionnaire.
The two-day event will start on Friday, April 29, and a two-day ticket will cost €10; a family pass is €20. Friday will consist of a farm walk to the Greenfield Teagasc farm, while Saturday will see the first of the 20 classes and six champ-ionships get under way, where the best of Holstein, Friesian, Jersey and Shorthorn will be on display. There will also be cookery demos, commercial and pedigree cattle sales and trade exhibitions.
