Dublin pastures for €11,000/acre

A guide price of €495,000 is being quoted for a 44ac non-residential farm which has just come on the market at Kilteel in the Dublin Mountains.

The property is ideally situated for someone looking for a farm close to Dublin city and Paul Doyle, of auctioneers JP&M Doyle, is expecting a few interested parties from that quarter.

The farm is located within striking distance of the villages of Blessington, Saggart and Rathcoole, and just off of the Naas Road.

Mr Doyle says the land is of good quality and has been used to keep both horses and cattle for the last while.

The farm is all in permanent pasture and has road frontage onto a secondary road. The farm buildings include covered sheds which have been used as stabling. These sheds extend to 472m2 and front onto a hardcore yard. The property is for sale by private treaty.

Mr Doyle has another two properties for sale at the moment. The bigger of the two is a 16.5ac parcel of land at Ballinabrockey, Manor Kilbride, Co Wicklow. This holding, which is also for sale by private treaty, comes with a one-sixth share of 3,471ac of hill grazing.

The land is located down a cul-de-sac, five miles outside Manor Kilbride village and four miles from Lacken. The land is described as good quality hill grazing.

Interest in the farm is likely to be restricted to local sheep farmers and a guide price of €180,000 is being quoted.

The other property is located at Rathattin, Hollywood, Co Wicklow. Described as an attractive parcel of land which extends to 18ac, it has extensive frontage onto the main Blessington to Baltinglass road, as well as to a side road. It is adjacent to Hollywood village.

The lands are all in one field and Mr Doyle insists that it would make an ideal site for a residence or stable yard. It is for sale by private treaty. A guide of €175,000 is being quoted.
