Double success for Brideland Simmentals

Twenty-one finalists competed for the four championships at the Southern Simmental Club Autumn Calf Finals in Barryroe having qualified from various shows including, Bandon, Belgooly, Clonakilty, Cork, Charleville, Dunmanway and Clonmel.

Ava O'Leary, Ballincollig, Co Cork scooped two of the four championships for the Brideland Simmentals.

Assistant secretary of the Southern Simmental Club, she took home the Yearling Bull Championship, sponsored by Animax Allsure, for the nine-month-old, Brideland Gatsby.

She also landed the Weanling Heifer Championship for the January 2015 born Brideland Geneva.

The Weanling Bull Championship, sponsored by Animax Allsure, was won by the November 2015 born, Carbery Gavyn exhibited by Keith Vickery.

September 2015 born, Raceview Gypsy Verona, from the herd of Peter O'Connell, Mallow was awarded the Yearling Heifer Championship .

Following on from the club championships, the Overall Breed Championship was also awarded to Raceview Gypsy Verona.

The Reserve Breed Championship went to Roscarberry to Keith Vickery with his Kilbride Farm Delboy sired bull Carbery Gavyn.
