Two of the country's largest milk processors have held their milk prices for February.

Dairygold has announced that it is to hold its February milk price at 31.5c/L including VAT and bonuses.

Kerry co-op also confirmed today that it was holding its February milk price at 31c/L VAT inclusive.

It comes after Glanbia announced that it was holding its base price earlier this week. Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) held its base price for February at 31c/L including VAT for manufacturing milk at 3.6pc fat and 3.3pc protein.

Glanbia Chairman Henry Corbally said that the Board will continue to monitor dairy markets on a monthly basis.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Dairies announced it has held its milk price at 31.28c/L including VAT for February milk.

Earlier this week, Rabobank dairy analyst Kevin Bellamy predicted that milk prices will hold in the medium term despite last week's 6.3pc fall in the Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index.
