Missouri farmer Jared and Blackwelder lost 32 cattle in a freak lightening storm this week in Missouri.
Blackwelder who farms in Texas County. Missouri, were hit by a recent storm that left 32 of his cattle dead.
Stan Coday, Wright County Missouri Farm Bureau President told CBS News that Jared discovered the dead cattle when he went out to bring them in. "It's a common occurrence. It does happen. The thing that made this the worst was just the sheer number of cows that were affected."
The organic cows were grouped together under trees to shelter from the storm. A local vet confirmed that the cows had died after being struck by lightening.
