Cow attack farmer 'fine'
Tuam Mart has played down reports of a cow that attacked a man at the weekly sale last week.
Mart manager Marion Devane admitted that a man had been assessed by a doctor after contact with a cow but said it had been "blown out of all proportion".
"A man went into a pen to look at a cow and, as he was climbing in, the cow caught him," she said. "He was fine. He was sent to the doctor and went back to the sales ring before going home."
The mart manager said that, following X-rays, the farmer had no broken bones but suffered body bruising.
The farmer was not available for comment.
