The Farming Independent is joining forces with Teagasc, Macra na Feirme and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to host a national conference on energy in agriculture.
The National Agricultural Energy Efficiency Conference will take place on December 6 at the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny.
It will focus on energy-smart agriculture, with speakers from Bord Bia, SEAI and Teagasc addressing topics such as the sustainability of Irish food and energy use on farms.
Individual speakers will address energy efficiency on dairy farms, opportunities for improving energy use on tillage farms and pig units, as well as in horticulture businesses.
The conference will also examine farm case studies and advice on renewable energy options for farms, heat pumps for poultry and pig enterprises, and solar and wind power.
