Compact Meath farm on market for €265,000

A compact Meath farm with plenty of road frontage has come on the market and will be sold at one of the earlier auctions of the season. Located at Clonkeefy, Oldcastle, the 29ac residential farm has a partially renovated farmhouse and comes with a guide price of €265,000.
Located 3km from Oldcastle, the farm is very well positioned at a crossroads giving much of the farm road frontage on to two roads. According to Stephen Barry of selling agents Raymond Potterton Auctioneers, the house was stripped down internally and reroofed by the most recent owner making it weather proof. There is existing planning permission for an extension to the residence.
Outside, the yard is made up of a haybarn and a series of useful stone built sheds.
The land is divided into seven fields all fenced with neat whitethorn hedges interspersed with specimen ash and beech trees.
The farm has been well looked after with good gates to each field and the ground, which was reseeded in relatively recent times, is in great heart. According to Mr Barry, it is draining into one corner and hasn't an inch of waste.
Mr Barry describes the place as a lovely, compact warm property with plenty of potential. It will be sold at auction in its entirety or in lots with the first lot comprised of the house and yard on 15.6ac while a parcel of 13.3ac will also be offered.
The auction takes place at the Navan offices of Raymond Potterton at 3pm on Tuesday, March 8.
