Farm properties in the border counties can be hard to come by and so the sale by public auction this Thursday of a 65ac residential farm at Lisball, Bailieborough, Cavan, is sure to attract attention.

The compact farm, pictured, is described by auctioneer TM Smith as featuring rich, dry fertile land with extensive road frontage and comes to market with a guide of €440,000.

The traditional-style farmhouse is set in well-maintained surrounds, with accommodation including three bedrooms, a reception hall, entrance hall, kitchen, dining room, scullery, utility room and sitting room.

The farm buildings consist of a large courtyard with nine stables, a slatted shed and a haybarn lean-to.

ENTERPRISE

The farm is suitable for a range of enterprises including cattle, sheep, dairy and equestrian.

Included in Thursday's auction is a 27ac roadside farm at Carnagarve, two miles from Bailieborough.

The lands are in grass with good road frontage and this parcel comes with a guide price of €5,000-€7,000/ac.

The auction takes place at the Baile Hotel at 4pm on Thursday.
