In Co Clare a 13ac parcel of land will be sold by public auction this Thursday.

Located about 500m from the town of Scarriff at Fossabeg, the roadside holding is described as fine grazing land. It comes to auction with a guide price of €150,000.

Laid out in two fields, the piece has extensive frontage and is good clean ground generally all in pasture.

The smaller field is a south-facing hill, while the larger field faces generally northeast.

According to Seamus Bane, of selling agents Kevin Bane and Sons, the land is regarded locally as fine grazing ground and is located in an active farming area. It should command strong local interest.

It will be sold at auction at Ryan's Bar, Scarriff at 2pm on this Thursday, April 21.

Moving north to Co Meath Thomas Potterton is handling the sale of a 49ac parcel of ground at Barfordstown, Kells.

Located 1km from Kells the land is described as a beautiful parcel of gently undulating ground in permanent pasture. It is guided prior to auction at €10,000/ac.

In three fields and watered by a stream there is generous road frontage on to the N52 and while currently in grass the auctioneer believes it would be equally suited to tillage or equestrian farming.

Subject to the necessary planning it could become a residential holding.

The place will be sold at auction at the Property Exchange, Trim at 3pm on Tuesday, April 26.

Athboy parcel

At the same auction a parcel of 29ac at Mitchelstown, Athboy, Co Meath will be offered for sale with a guide price of €10,000/ac.

Located 5.5km from both Trim and Athboy this is described as a top class ground laid out in two divisions with a holding pen and cattle handling facilities.

Bordered by a river, the property also has good frontage on to the Trim to Athboy road and with the necessary permissions could be an ideal spot for a residence.
