EU Agriculture Commissioner Dacian Ciolos is to visit Ireland on July 12-13.
The visit takes place immediately before an EU conference on the future of the CAP after 2013.
The conference comes at the end of the public debate process announced by the Commissioner last week.
Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith said the timing of Commissioner Ciolos' visit was significant and would give Ireland an opportunity to present its position on CAP.
Mr Smith confirmed the Department had received 60 submissions since it invited written submissions in July last year.
"We will be writing to those who made submissions to our national consultation to urge them to also participate in the Commission exercise," he said.
"It is very important that Ireland's voice is heard clearly and strongly in this process."
