A CHANGE of mind by the vendors disappointed bidders at a Carlow auction last week keen to bid on an exceptional residential holding on 139.5ac.

Nevertheless, 129ac of the agricultural land is still an attractive prospect and negotiations continue to conclude the sale for the now non-residential holding at Myshall.

The land, part of the Ballinarush House estate, was bid to €750,000 at auction before it was withdrawn.

Auctioneer Matthew Conry, of Dawson Real Estate Alliance, confirmed that negotiations had since advanced but so far had not reached 'sale agreed'.

Located just one mile outside the south Co Carlow village, the land is laid out in one block and divided into good-sized fields, which are accessed via a central farm roadway.

It has been extremely well maintained by its present owners, who use the land for tillage and grass.

The selling agents were quoting a pre-auction guide price of around €8,000/ac for the land.
