Cert to stamp out rogue farm advisors

Private farm consultants have rolled out a new certfication scheme designed to stamp out rogue-traders that fail to represent farmers' best interests.
Over 400 private consultants deal with more than half of all farmers in the country, and the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) hopes the new Registered Agricultural Consultant (RAC) designation will become the industry standard.
Participants will be required to undergo regular training and to adhere to a strict disciplinary code as well as holding professional indemnity insurance cover. The ASA hope that the RAC will become a requirement for any advisor to work on EU funded schemes.
