Bill Carroll has stepped down as a director of Glanbia.
In a stock exchange announcement, Glanbia Plc said that Mr Carroll had resigned as a director of Glanbia Co-op. As a result he had automatically ceased to be a director of Glanbia Plc.
As the major shareholder of the Plc, Glanbia Co-op nominates a number of directors to its board.
The company declined to comment beyond the stock exchange announcement.
Mr Carroll had been caught up in a Department of Agriculture investigation in relation to milk quota issues surrounding his herd and the quota relating to the farm at Clongowes Wood College in Co Kildare.
The Department of Agriculture's Special Investigations Unit looked into the case last year.
The case was eventually referred to the Chief State Solicitor's office to establish if "any further action is warranted". Agriculture minister Simon Coveney later said no further action was warranted.
