Bryan to meet with Limerick's rebels

IFA president John Bryan is to attend a meeting of the Limerick IFA county executive a week tomorrow where he will respond to criticism from members over the IFA's continued support of the quality payment system (QPS) for cattle.
Limerick has been one of the counties where farmers have opposed the introduction of the grading system. There was an unanimous endorsement in Limerick earlier in the year for a motion calling on the IFA's leadership to suspend support for the QPS because of its impact on cattle prices and the damage local members said it was doing to the IFA.
