A guide price of €800,000 is being quoted by Blarney auctioneer Daniel Fleming for an 80ac property outside the Cork county town of Mallow.

The holding is located six miles south of Mallow at Annaleentha, Mourneabbey. The farm is all in new grass and is described by Mr Fleming as the best of land.

In the days of the Mallow Sugar Factory the property was farmed for beet and it still has a beet slab as a reminder of those years. These days the farm is all in grass paddocks.

The property was left by an uncle to a young man who invested heavily in the holding. As a result it is fully serviced by water and electricity, has roadways throughout and is all well fenced. Indeed, some of the land is post and rail fenced.

It has an extensive range of modern sheds that include slatted units, loose accommodation for cattle, as well as machinery and storage sheds.

The farm, which is divided by a road, has plenty of road frontage. It can be sold in the entire or in two lots, with lot one consisting of a 24ac parcel and lot two comprising 56ac and the sheds.

While auctioneer Daniel Fleming has an offer of €14,000/ac on the 24ac section, he is guiding the private treaty sale at €10,000/ac.
