The lands are laid out in five divisions, made up of three fields and two paddocks. The property includes a farmyard with water and electricity. There are two sheds of 2,000ft2 and 1,000 sq ft on a hardcore yard that would be suitable for use as lock ups, stables or storage space.

Coonan's Susan Kirk said this would be an excellent residential holding, suitable for customers with an equestrian interest or farm-related business.

She maintained the guide price of €10,000-12,000/ac is realistic: "Only a short few years ago, property such as this in this area would have made €40,000-50,000/ac."

It is thought local farmers will make up the bulk of the customers at the auction at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, at 3pm on Thursday.
