Adare farm makes ¤9,700/ac

A 65ac residential farm at Adare in Co Limerick was sold at auction last Friday for €630,000 or almost €9,700/ac. The price paid was significantly stronger than the guide of €8,000/ac.

The property, located at Beabus, two miles from Adare and 12 miles from Limerick City, attracted much interest.

The land is described by Tom Crosse of selling agents GVM, Limerick as good farmland.

The residence, a single storey three-bedroom farmhouse, is situated in a traditional farmyard consisting of a three-column haybarn, a garage, a machinery shed and some calf sheds.

A crowd of some 70 people turned up for the auction at the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare.

Having consulted with the vendors it was decided to put the property on the market at €610,000 and two Kerry-based bidders battled it out until the property was sold for €630,000.

The purchaser is a man from Tralee who is believed to have been acting for his son.

According to Mr Crosse, the vendors and the purchaser were happy with the transaction.
