A Clare champion in Carrick

A Co Clare-bred Charolais bull sold for the top price of €5,600, at the Midland and Western Livestock Improvement Society Elite Show and Sale at Carrick-on-Shannon.

September 2014 born 'Clenagh Jake 2 ET' was exhibited by Michael J Quin, Newmarket on Fergus.

Cathal Duignan, Laheen House, Mohill was awarded the Charolais Bull Championship for 'Laheens Jason 2', sired by 'Lisnagre Elite' and sold for €5,200.

Kathleen Crowe, Summerhill, Carrick on Shannon received €4,300 each for her two Charolais bulls 'Clogher Josh', and 'Clogher Jim', both purchased by Welsh farmer, Richard Judge

The Champion Limousin Bull was 'Sheemore Joker', exhibited by Paddy Farrell, Ballinwing, Leitrim, president of the Midland and Western Livestock Improvement Society, and sold for €3,600.
