A €2 billion export trade

Over 550,000t of beef is produced from 1 million suckler cows and 1.3 million dairy cows, of which almost 90pc is exported.
This makes Ireland the largest net exporter of beef in the northern hemisphere and the fourth largest in the world. For 2015, Irish beef exports are valued at more than €2.1bn.
More and more of Ireland's beef exports are going into higher value retail and foodservice channels. It is listed with more than 80 multiple retail chains across European markets - more than any other country.
