50ac Enfield parcel under negotiation

Negotiations are continuing for a 50ac non-residential farm close to Enfield, Co Meath, after it was withdrawn from auction on Thursday.

The property at Rathroane, Enfield was offered for sale in two lots of 20ac and 30ac respectively, as well as in its entirety. It attracted some very active bidding, with at least five farmers in the frame.

The 20ac portion of the farm was bid up to €86,000, while the 30ac portion was bid up to €167,000. The entire farm was then offered, and was bid up to €260,000.

However, with a pre-auction guide of €325,000, the bids were not enough to tempt the vendor so auctioneer Edward Carey from Property Partners Carey withdrew the farm from auction.

It is understood that negotiations are now continuing.

Meanwhile, Mr Carey is also handling the sale of a 39ac farm at Coolderry and Glebe, Rathmolyon, Co Meath.

The non-residential farm is laid out in easily managed divisions and is all under permanent pasture, surrounded by mature trees. The farm has a guide price of €350,000.
