It isn't often you hear land referred to as "a lovely thing", but this is how Meath auctioneer Raymond Potterton describes a 33ac parcel of ground at Lismullen, Garlow Cross, Navan. The holding will be sold at auction tomorrow with a guide price of €290,000.
Located beside Lismullen school and four miles from Navan, the ground is currently sown to winter wheat and described as the best of tillage land.
According to Mr Potterton, the property would suit a variety of customers from local farmers to the small investor willing to sit on a bit of development land, or someone with an interest in a larger site close to Navan.
With this range of customers in mind, the holding will be offered in three lots.
A 25ac section will be sold simply as agricultural land with a guide price of €200,000.
A 5ac portion within the village speed limit and adjacent to the school that could accommodate up to four sites will be offered with a guide of €60,000.
Finally, a 3ac piece with site potential located at the other side of the school to the 5ac piece comes to auction with a guide of €30,000.
The holding goes to auction at the Navan offices of Raymond Potterton at 3pm tomorrow.
