€10,000/ac guide for meath
There is a vibrant market for small parcels of land at the moment and this should be to the benefit of a 43ac holding at Rathbeggan, Dunboyne, Co Meath, that goes to auction on Tuesday, April 5, and comes with a guide price of €10,000/ac.
The farm is located four miles from the village of Dunboyne, five miles from Dunshaughlin and 12 miles from Dublin.
Situated in the heart of great farmland, it is laid out in five divisions with plenty of road frontage onto the old N3 Dublin to Cavan road.
According to Susan Kirk, of selling agents Coonan's Real Estate, Maynooth, the land is currently all in grass after it was reseeded four years ago. It has a small stream running through it providing a natural water supply but it is also supplied with mains water.
"It is fine, dry Meath ground on an elevated site and would be an ideal place to build a house subject to planning permission," said Ms Kirk.
"Such permission might be easier to obtain on this site now that the N3 is not as busy as it was prior to the opening of the M3 motorway. In that case it would make for an ideal hobby farm. In its current state, it would be a fine addition to any existing farm enterprise."
Ms Kirk says the guide price is realistic and reflects what the market is paying for land in that area.
