Datalex results take off on new airline customers

Irish travel software firm Datalex has delivered a strong set of first-half results, with revenue climbing 14pc to $20.2m (€15.3m) as customer deployments with airlines including Canada's Westjet and Virgin Australia went live.

Datalex software helps airlines to generate additional ancillary revenue streams.

Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 23pc to $3.8m (€2.9m). Transaction revenue - an important metric for Datalex - rose 19pc to $9.6m.

During the first half of the year, Datalex inked deals with a number of new customers, including US carrier JetBlue, as well as Brussels Airlines and Air Transat.

The company said 2014 is a year of "investment, performance and growth".

"We are undertaking a significant programme of new customer deployments," it said.
