The 114 acre Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort has been put up for sale on the instructions of receiver Kieran Wallace of KPMG.

CBRE's John Hughes is handling the sale.

The hotel is located at Limerick Junction 6km from Tipperary Town and about 30 minutes' drive from Limerick City. It is situated on the Limerick to Waterford Road (N24) and an hour's drive from Cork City.

The hotel is almost opposite Tipperary race course - formally known as Limerick Junction.

According to CBRE, the Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort is a modern 40 bedroom four star hotel which opened in 2005.

The reception area leads to ground floor bars, restaurant and banqueting facilities. Located close to reception is a boardroom style meeting room. The hotel includes The Junction One Bar which is popular with guests and locals and the Junction One Restaurant with terracing overlooking the golf course.

An "extensive" kitchen with rear deliveries caters for all banqueting and restaurant areas.

Bedrooms are located on the first and second floors and include standard rooms and suites. The hotel leisure centre is accessed from the hotel and has separate access from the car park. The centre provides a pool, jacuzzi sauna and steam room at ground floor and a gym at first floor. At first floor is a spa, offices, bar, and function rooms.

The hotel is believed to have established itself as an increasingly popular wedding venue. It can cater for approximately 250 guests. The hotel will catered for over 80 weddings in 2016.

Mr Hughes commented: "As well as the hotel, the proximity and accessibility of Ballykisteen Golf Course has also attracted golfing visitors to the championship Des Smyth designed course.

"The proximity of the hotel from Dublin, Cork and Limerick cities via the improved road network including the M8 Motorway has benefited business for the hotel and golf course," he added.
