Starbucks has opened a cafe in Bloomfields Shopping Centre Dun Laoghaire.
The US coffee chain has taken a 2,787 sq ft unit in what letting agent HWBC describes as a "high profile location on the ground floor" of the 120,000 square foot centre.
The centre is anchored by Tesco and IMC Cinemas with other top retailers including Boots, Argos and Dealz.
Starbucks is taking over what was formerly Mandalay Café and the opening means that there are now three Starbucks cafes in Dun Laoghaire. An adjacent 1,044 sq ft. unit is also currently available to prospective tenants at an annual rent of €25,000 per annum, and would be an ideal location for a health store, book shop, card shop or game store.
Gavin Brennan of HWBC who is the letting agent on the deal said: "We are seeing increasing footfall at Bloomfields as confidence returns to the consumer, and the extra money in people's pockets following the recent budget will help that to grow further.
The new store will be a great boost to the centre, adding a prime food and drink offering to the existing high quality retail mix. The adjacent unit, which is currently vacant, should now let quickly, helped by an attractive new tenant like Starbucks as neighbour."
