A RETAIL unit in the centre of Galway will be one of 46 properties auctioned off this week.

It is located at 8 Lower Abbeygate Street, in the heart of Galway City, and has an advised minimum value of some €495,000.

According to O'Donnellan & Joyce Auctioneers, the property is in a "prime" position on a busy street. It will go under the hammer with 45 others in the first all-day auction in the West of Ireland.

It takes place in The Harbour Hotel on May 9.

The retail unit contains a space on the ground floor of 660 sq ft, with open stairs leading to a further retail space on the first floor of 560 sq ft.

Stairs lead to the second floor, which consists of a storage room, toilet and canteen area of 560 sq ft.

The attic is converted for storage or office use, with a window inserted, allowing natural light. Open viewings are on Wednesdays 3.30pm–4.30pm.

"This an opportunity to purchase a prime building in the heart of Galway on a street where you have an enormous amount of passing trade and just moments from the Shop Street shopping district," said O'Donnellan & Joyce.
