New buyer found for Dolmen Hotel

The Dolmen Hotel, Carlow.

THE future of the Dolmen Hotel in Carlow has been secured after it was sold.

The hotel on the Kilkenny Road is some 2km outside Carlow town, and overlooks the River Barrow to the rear. The hotel was on the market with a guide price of €1.25m.

The hotel comprises 81 ensuite bedrooms together with restaurant and bar. Banqueting and Conference facilities are provided with a total capacity for up to 1,200 delegates.

The hotel extends to over 5,760sqm and is on a site extending to approximately 7.7 acres with car parking.

CBRE acted as agents for the hotel, which was bought by Wexford businessman Thomas O'Loughlin who plans to refurbish it.
