Logistics centre tagged for 35 acre Baldonnell site

Mountpark Logistics EU, says it is ready to invest up to €40m in a logistics and industrial centre in west Dublin after it purchased a 35 acre site at Baldonnell close to the M50.

The company, which is a joint venture between Mountpark and a fund controlled by US investment firm USAA Real Estate Company.

According to the firms, the plan will create 120 jobs during the construction phase which is targeted to start in late 2015 with up to 850 jobs expected to be created by the companies operating from the hub.

There will be up to 150 additional ancillary services jobs also. Overall the scheme could deliver 1,000 jobs to South Dublin, the firm claims.

Phillip O'Callaghan, of Mountpark commented: "We are delighted to have acquired this ideally located site in Baldonnell and believe that the development will provide a wide range of job opportunities and an economic boost to the area.

"We look forward to developing high quality logistics units in South County Dublin for Irish and International businesses," Mr O'Callaghan added.
