Music retailer Golden Discs will return to Limerick this Saturday when it opens a new 167 sq m (1,800 sq ft) store at 34 Cruises Street.

To celebrate, this weekend the store will offer discounts across various product lines. The Cruises St store will bring to 13 the number of standalone stores in the chain.

Over the years Golden Discs had previously operated from four locations in Limerick before their major contraction eight years ago.

Now the company is looking to open three more stores in Ireland before the end of this year.

CEO Stephen Fitzgerald said the Limerick store will recruit part-time staff "so we're calling on music obsessives and film buffs to please pop in to Cruises Street with your CV and meet the team".

Golden Discs will support local artists by hosting instore gigs, starting with Anna's Anchor at 3pm on June 24 in Limerick.
