Dalkey Manor and its extensive garden has been put on the market for in excess of €7m. The prime residential development site Dalkey is on the market through Savills.
This infill housing site, which extends to 2.32 acres, comprises of Dalkey Manor and extensive gardens. Dalkey Manor is an six bedroom house of about 2,939 sq ft.
The site is located 400 metres west of Dalkey Village and accessed off Barnhill Road. Under the recently adopted Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan 2016-2022, the property is zoned Objective A "to protect, and/or improve residential amenity". The primary use permitted under this zoning is residential, but a number of commercial uses are open for consideration.
The current owners - PegasusLife - is a UK company that specialise in retirement property. It had intended to develop apartments for people in the area seeking to trade down from larger and potentially under used housing stock but have now decided to concentrate on their core UK business where they have more than 1600 apartments under development over 33 sites.
Jill Horan of Savills commented: "This is arguably one of the most sought-after residential sites to come to the market in south Co Dublin. This property represents a rare opportunity to acquire a residential development site with potential for up to 52 apartments in two blocks or a conventional 3 storey housing development comprising 22 units within the well-established residential location of Dalkey."
Dalkey is a popular residential location for both the Irish and International elite. The area is largely unspoiled, has an old world charm and is set among spectacular scenery, say the agents.
