C&C, the brewing company that owns Bulmers, has announced a new long-term distribution partnership with its US wholly-owned US subsidiary Pabst Brewing Company.
The deal, which will take effect on March 1, will make Pabst responsible for the sale and distribution of C&C’s cider brands within the US.
The brands that Pabst will distribute include premium craft cider brands Woodchuck, Gumption, Wyder’s and Hornsby’s as well as C&C’s imported cider brands, including Magners.
Speaking about the deal C&C chief executive Stephen Glancey, said the company expects significant growth in the US.
“We expect cider’s share of beer to grow double digits and to reach 3pc over the next five to seven years. We have a truly unique asset in the US market with our Vermont cidery and are very proud of the heritage and craftsmanship behind our domestic and imported cider brands.
“We now have the best partner to capitalise on the potential for Woodchuck, Gumption, Wyder’s and Magners in the US market,” Mr Glancey said.
C&C will retain full ownership of its US Cider Brands and related assets, including its cidery in Vermont.
