Carlow brewery expands

Carlow Brewing Company said it will create 12 new jobs within three months following a €1.5m investment.

The 20-year-old Carlow Brewing Company, also known as O'Hara's Brewery, added that its workforce will swell to more than 50 employees thanks to the increasing popularity of Irish craft beer. The brewery has recently expanded into cider production.

"Today's announcement is testament to the fact that if you support local breweries, you will also in turn create local jobs," said chief executive Seamus O'Hara. "We are currently looking to add more space to our operations and in time this will facilitate further expansion."
