Britain's decision to leave the European Union may place Bank of Ireland's first dividend in eight years at risk as shares in the bank have been hammered since Friday.
According to a report in The Irish Times, Goodbody analyst Eamonn Hughes said Friday's shock result could put the dividend at risk.
Earlier in the year Bank of Ireland outlined its intentions to start paying back shareholders with a modest return on the company's earnings from this year.
Shares in the bank have fallen by 38pc since Friday with the share price now lingering around 17c.
